All eyes are pointed at Barcelona and the weather

Will this be the toughest Barcelona race ever? When are we to expect the first pigeons? All fanciers are speculating, but it will be the pigeons that decide.
Barcelona is the greatest classic of the year. It's the race everyone's looking forward to and is following very closely, no matter wether you're a speed or heavy long distance fanatic, or even if just out of respect for the great distance our winged friends must cross. Barcelona is a power struggle, bringing the pigeons to their limits.
This year's edition however will receive special attention. Especially because of the extreme weather conditions the pigeons must fly through in order to get home. There's a tropical heat in France with temperatures that rise up to and above 35°C, reaching 38°C and possibly higher at some places. The only ally our pigeons seems to have is the wind, blowing across the largest part of the flight from the South-East and South above the southern and middle parts of France and blowing towards the East above the northern parts. Unfortunately it's also this wind that is blowing the extremely hot air to the northern parts of Europe. The only question that's in our minds at this point: will pigeons we able to fly at a constant rate in this weather? And how long can they keep it up?
Only at the start of the race the wind above Spain was blowing slightly to the North East, the sky was clear and the thermometer was indicating 25° Celcius at 07:40 AM. Above the South of France there were some (thunder)storms but in the course of the morning these nearly completely disappeared from the sky. In the afternoon pigeons were able to enjoy a very sunny sky accompanied by tropical temperatures.
In the eve some thunderclouds will appear in the North-West of France nearing the French-Belgian border and will provide cooler air.

¿Será esta la carrera más dura del Barcelona en toda su historia? ¿Cuándo vamos a esperar las primeras palomas? Todos los aficionados están especulando, pero será a las palomas que deciden.
Barcelona es el mayor clásico del año. Es la carrera todo el mundo está deseando que llegue y está siguiendo muy de cerca, no importa Wether si eres un fanático de la velocidad o pesada de larga distancia, o incluso si sólo por respeto a la gran distancia a nuestros amigos alados deben cruzar. Barcelona es una lucha por el poder, con lo que las palomas a sus límites.
La edición de este año, sin embargo recibirá una atención especial. Especialmente debido a las condiciones climáticas extremas a las palomas deben volar por el fin de llegar a casa. Hay un calor tropical en Francia con las temperaturas que se elevan hasta y por encima de 35 ° C, llegando a 38 ° C y posiblemente más alto en algunos lugares.
